The UCAS deadline for Higher Education applications is fast approaching, so if you’d like to apply to a BIMM degree course starting in September, you’ll need to start thinking about submitting your UCAS application soon. The deadline is 6pm on 15th January 2017.
We don’t want you to miss out – applications that are submitted after January 15th will only be considered after all the on-time applications have been processed, so it’s best to get yours in on time.
HOW DOES THE UCAS APPLICATION WORK?
At this stage, when you apply to UCAS you’ll be asked to submit up to five options for the courses that you’d like to study, at the education institutes you’d like to join. You’ll find all our BIMM courses listed on the UCAS website along with our course and campus codes. To make an application through UCAS, you’ll need to go to www.ucas.com and register before you can submit any choices.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR UCAS APPLICATION
Your application will need to include the following:
- A list of all your academic achievements, including any pending qualifications.
- A Personal Statement (under a maximum of 4,000 characters).
- A reference from either a teacher, tutor or employer.
For further information about UCAS submissions, please see BIMM’s handy applicant guides:
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I’VE APPLIED?
Once your UCAS application has been received, we’ll invite you in for an audition and/or assessment or, if you clearly meet the entry criteria for the course you’ve selected, we’ll offer you a place.
Once you’ve applied via UCAS, you’ll be invited to attend an assessment. If you can’t make it to a BIMM college, we can organise a remote one for you.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
If your assessment is successful, you’ll either be provided with a ‘conditional offer’ (pending until we receive your exam results and certificates) or an ‘unconditional offer’ (you’ve met the entry criteria for the course and don’t need to supply any additional information). Offers will be announced via UCAS’s ‘Track’ facility.
