About BIMM Bristol

Connected to a life in music

BIMM Bristol is part of the BIMM Group – Europe’s largest and leading contemporary music college.

We offer a full range of Higher Education music courses including degrees in a variety of different disciplines, such as guitar, bass, drums, vocals, songwriting, music production, music industry management and event management.  The high quality of learning opportunities provided for our students has been commended by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) – the independent body entrusted with monitoring standards in Higher Education – in their Higher Education Review (HER).

BIMM Brighton was the first BIMM college to open (2001), followed by colleges in Bristol (2008), London (2010), Dublin (2011), Manchester (2013), Berlin (2015),  Birmingham (2017) and Hamburg (2018).

The eight BIMM institutes collaborate in perfect harmony, but at the same time, each individual music college has its own unique, independent regional identity which we continue to nurture.

Our students love BIMM Bristol because they get direct access to brilliant venues and facilities like The Fleece and Thekla for performing, J & J and Multiverse Studios for writing and recording, The Colston Hall for rehearsing, and The Mothers Ruin, The Stag and Hounds and The Old Duke for gigs. They say live music is everywhere in Bristol, and with a plethora of open mic nights and spontaneous acoustic jam sessions in Castle Park with fellow students, we tend to agree.

The BIMM Bristol campus is in the heart of Bristol in King Square and includes a live performance room, vocal studio, guitar teaching space, songwriting studio, artist development room, bass studio and drum room. The building also houses a library and resource room, student common room and individual tutorial rooms. All our facilities are kitted out with high-tech equipment and software provided by the world’s leading musical instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us.  Find out more.

Our BIMM Bristol tutors are all very active in the local Bristol music scene and beyond, and between them have written books, won awards, managed international artists, and performed with some of the best. Put simply, they’re really well connected and eager to pass their knowledge, experience and guidance onto you.

So, what are you waiting for? To make it in the music industry, connect with BIMM Bristol today.
