The Mark Williams Future Talent Scholarship

BIMM University Berlin is pleased to welcome renowned British actor, Mark Williams, as the official ambassador for the Future Talent Scholarship. The scholarship is open to eligible film and acting students applying for September 2024 entry at BIMM University Berlin.

Mark Williams is a British character actor celebrated for portraying Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter film series and starring as the titular character in the enduring BBC series Father Brown. He initially rose to fame as a prominent performer in the beloved BBC sketch comedy, The Fast Show. Throughout his expansive career, Mark has taken on significant roles in various film and television productions, including 101 Dalmatians, Doctor Who, Stardust, and The Borrowers, among numerous others.

Current film and acting students at BIMM were recently treated to a day of masterclasses and hands-on workshops exploring the genre of comedy, all led by Mark. There was also a hugely popular exclusive Q&A session in which students were able to delve into Mark’s career and gain insight into building their own careers in the film and television industry.

Read more about Mark’s masterclasses and workshops from that day.

The Mark Williams Future Talent Scholarship will cover full tuition fees for a candidate beginning their degree in BA (Hons) Filmmaking or BA (Hons) Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media at BIMM University Berlin in September 2024. Specifically, the scholarship aims to help an undergraduate student from an underrepresented background and/or low household income, who demonstrates a strong creative vision, a passion to drive positive social change through their work, and exceptional talent.

At BIMM University, we recognise the financial challenges of pursuing a creative education, which is why we offer a variety of scholarships and bursaries to help each and every student to achieve their career goals.
