A new era in Hamburg’s music history has begun. The city with music in its veins is welcoming a new addition to the musical community. BIMM Hamburg is excited to announce the launch of a range of exceptional short courses for aspiring and established musicians, producers and industry professionals.
All courses are completely unique to BIMM Hamburg and follow the same successful style of music education that propelled George Ezra and James Bay to the stratosphere. We’ll teach you everything it takes to make it in music, from Production, Performance and Music Business.
From Dreams to Streams
Many of us have great ideas, but so many struggle to make these ideas a reality. Through an intensive week at BIMM Institute Hamburg we want to help you bridge this gap – identify your blocks and learn tools to overcome them. Stretch your brain in new directions, learn new skills and techniques to foster mastery of your songwriting and production process – from your dreams to streams in just one week.
Much more than a songwriting band camp – this takes you further by enhancing your practise through theoretical and practical exercises designed to push you further in your songwriting and production skills.
This journey will be led by BIMM Berlin’s Head of Production, Jane Arnison, in partnership with award winning songwriter / producer Jake Shillingford and will feature masterclasses from local Hamburg legends of the industry.
This workshop takes place daily from Monday 1st July until Friday 5th July 2019.
Whether it’s concerts, DJ nights or conferences, they all follow the same principles. This course follows the fundamental steps and successful strategies in the world of events. Over this weekend you will learn how to plan, design, implement and evaluate a high-quality live music event.
You will learn to develop the requisite skills and the application of business techniques associated with managing an event to a professional standard.
The overall course aims to provide attendees with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills required for a career as a music industry professional, whether as a performer, entrepreneur, event producer or creative manager.
The course will be led by BIMM Berlin’s Head of Music Business; Charlie Layton, drummer for the internationally recognised bands The Wedding Present and Art Brut.
This 2-day intensive course is delivered over a weekend on Saturday 3rd August and Sunday 4th August.
Throughout 2019 we will be expanding our course repertoire with more industry-focused short courses and workshops in Music Business, DIY Promotion, Events and Booking and Songwriting. Over the summer months, we’ll also be running Summer Bootcamps to really amp up your Songwriting and Music Production skills.
