Higher Education College Transfer Scheme

Multiple Cities, Infinite Possibilities

PLEASE NOTE: At the present time, this is only available to students on undergraduate music courses.

Our colleges are spread across some of the UK & Europe’s most creative cities – and you have the chance to explore multiple.

Through our Higher Education College Transfer Scheme, you can split your time between our BIMM University locations in Berlin, Brighton, Bristol, Dublin, London and Manchester.*

*The scheme is only available where the same course is delivered and is at the same stage of delivery in the chosen location. Full details and conditions are available here.

Studying in different cities opens the doors to new creative influences, inspirations and opportunities.

Immerse yourself in a completely different creative scene, build a reputation in multiple locations and expand your industry contacts.

“The move to London felt right for me at the time, as the Manchester scene didn’t quite fit my tastes and needs anymore. Moving forces you to step out of your comfort zone to make new contacts and friends. Now I’ve moved, I’m pretty sure I’ll stay here after graduation!”
Brooke Williams, BIMM Student

Berlin

Berlin is one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals. A city of contrasts with one foot in the past and another in the present, it’s a city not easily defined. Constantly in flux and abuzz with creativity, inspiration and opportunity are aplenty here.

Berlin native and House/Techno producer Marlon Hoffstadt took some time out of his busy schedule to show us his five STAPLES of the Berlin music scene.

Birmingham

Birmingham has a music culture unique to the UK. Feeding off diverse subcultures and genres, it’s a scene that provides limitless inspiration and opportunities for collaboration. For anyone deciding where to study music, Birmingham is a place that will expand your musical horizons.

We asked Music Journalist and Brum Radio presenter Danny de Reybekill to show off his city and give us his 5 STAPLES of the Birmingham music scene.

Brighton

This city by the sea is bursting with every genre of music you could imagine. And it’s home to festivals like The Great Escape and Brighton Pride, too. Brighton is one of the most liberal, accepting, versatile and dynamic places around – and it could be the perfect place for you to start your music industry career.

Roxy Roberts took some time out from running Hear No Evil Management, hosting her radio show on Trickstar Radio and getting involved with Brighton Sound Social to take us around her five Staples of the Brighton music scene.

Bristol

Music plays a huge part in maintaining Bristol’s cultural prominence. Study in the city where drum & bass (Roni Size), trip-hop (Massive Attack, Portishead) and punk have roots – and a flourishing future. Just check out IDLES, who are taking the Bristol music scene to the masses.

We caught up with Heavy Lungs frontman, IDLES homie and all round great bloke Danny Nedelko, to get his five ‘STAPLES’ of Bristol’s music scene.

Dublin

Welcome to Dublin: a city with music at its very core. Every night of the week, you’ll hear the sound of live music pulsing across the city.

Music is a living part of the city’s identity with music venues on every corner. This is a city to hear international acts at the 3Arena and the Academy one night or local bands, DJs and artists onstage at one of the hundreds of legendary venues, bars, pubs and clubs any other night of the week.

All-round hero and half of the formidable ‘Le Boom’, Aimie Mallon shows us around her 5 STAPLE venues of Dublin’s exciting music scene.

London

London has an incredibly vibrant and diverse music scene. On any given night you can check out acts from the four corners of the globe in every style imaginable. Whether a hotly-tipped grime act in East London, legendary jazzers at Ronnie Scott’s, cutting-edge alternative bands in Camden or some delectable soul in a super cool club, music in London is eclectic, exciting and always evolving.

London Hip-Hop and Grime artist Kwazi Cort, shows us his 5 STAPLE spaces of the South-West London Music Scene.

Manchester

The metropolitan city with a phenomenal musical history and thriving music scene that’s set to grow even bigger. The 1975, Pale Waves, Aitch, Oasis, Joy Division, The Smiths, Parklife and Dot to Dot Festival all call this exciting, innovative city home.

Duncan Wallis, Dutch Uncles’ frontman, Super 8th radio show host and all round top guy gives us a tour of his 5 STAPLES of the Manchester music scene.
