Thomas Seminar Ford is a guitarist hailing from Birmingham. After spending his teens playing around the UK he moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music where he majored in Jazz Composition and Performance.
He has performed at major festivals such as Wireless, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, MADE festival, Glastonbury and London Jazz festival and received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1, 2 and 3 and has been part of the Island records artist development team playing with other top session players Reuben James(Sam Smith), Jamiel Blake(Sam Smith), Kieron McIntosh(Plan B), Moyses Dos Santos(Gavin James) and Slim Gabriel (Bruno Major) as well as working with Callum Scott and singer / songwriter Fabienne. He has also recorded for Sony and Universal records with Elephantine and performed and recorded with Dorcha which led to a tour with seminal American band Deerhoof.
In the Jazz and Latin world Thomas is busy as a sideman appearing on releases by Sam Watts, The Jonathan Silk Big Band, Chris Young’s Orbits and James Tartaglia whilst performing at world renown UK jazz clubs and festivals (Ronnie Scotts, 606 Club, Pizza Express, Charlie Wrights, The Jazz Bar, Jazz at the Proms, Cheltenham Jazz Fest, Mostly Jazz Fest, Glasgow Jazz Fest, Manchester Jazz Fest, Gateshead Jazz Fest and more).
He also spent 3 years on Aldeburgh Music’s Open Space residencies with composer Phil Dawson, and is endorsed by JJ guitars.
Currently Tom is busy working with the band TROPE who released their latest work through the label Jazz Re:Freshed; and Delta Autumn, a multi genre project that has worked and recorded with rappers Juice Aleem and Phundo art.
