Deputy Head of Drums

Drummer Mark has performed live and recorded with some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians, including ECM artists Andy Sheppard and Iain Ballamy, Jason Rebello (Sting, Jeff Beck), Clare Teal, Jim Mullen (Average White Band), Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown), Tina May, Mike Outram, Gareth Williams, and James Gardiner-Bateman (Paloma Faith), and has shared festival stages with drummers such as Nasheet Waits and Ian Thomas.

Over his career he’s played at many prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, Glastonbury Festival, the 606 Club, and Pizza Express Jazz Club as a regular at the London Jazz Festival. His recorded work has been aired on BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music and Jazz FM, as well as being used on television. In addition to jazz, Mark has gained extensive experience in musical theatre, and was invited to deputise on the drum chair for the world tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical ‘Evita’. He’s proud to be a Sakae Drums artist.
