Graham is a music industry professional with a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with all areas of the music business, from independent musicians to major record labels and longstanding music publishing companies to new digital enterprises.
Graham began lecturing in music business in 2013 when he joined BIMM Institute London as a Module Leader, and since 2014 he has been BA (Hons) Music Business Course Leader. During this time he has also held a Visiting Lecturer post at the University of Hertfordshire and delivered workshops for the British Council.
Outside of lecturing, Graham provides freelance consulting and business services to individuals and companies within the music industry, from independent musicians looking to generally develop their careers to established organisations with specific expertise requirements. In 2017 and 2018 he provided temporary cover at the Musicians’ Union in the Recording & Broadcasting department and the London Regional office respectively.
Prior to going freelance, Graham was Head of Membership at BASCA (now known as The Ivors Academy) the professional association for songwriters and composers in the UK renowned for organising the annual Ivor Novello Awards and British Composer Awards. He has also worked in music accountancy, management and publishing.
Graham’s qualifications include a PGCert Learning and Teaching, a BA (Hons) Music and Entertainment Industry Management, and a HND in Music Production. He is also a recipient of the Music Publishers’ Association Richard Toeman Scholarship, an award designed to support the progress of outstanding individuals within the music publishing industry.
