After graduating, Maria secured a job as a Management Assistant at an esteemed music management company in London, assisting on a range of artists. Following this, she then joined the team at Verdigris Management where Maria managed her own artists and built her own roster. Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maria lost her job in early 2020. However, her hard work independently managing artist Sinead O’Brien led to Sinead being signed to independent label Chess Club Records for a single and EP deal.
Since then, Maria has built an amazing team around Sinead O’Brien and they’re currently planning the next stages of releases in 2021/2022.
Maria continues to build her own management roster independently, specialising in groups that are female-fronted. Her aim is to ensure that women in the music industry are supported and given a platform to develop artistically and creatively. During lockdown, she took on Bristol female punk trio Grandmas House, who will be releasing some amazing music in 2021.
Maria had this to say about her time at BIMM Institute Bristol:
“BIMM provided me with the foundations to build a music management career by covering all areas of the industry, whether that be tour budgeting or live show setups. This knowledge allowed me to take the leap and start managing my own artists.
“I really enjoy working in Artist Management as every day you face a new learning curve, which allows me to develop personally and professionally throughout my career. Also, I really enjoy planning an artist’s timeline; seeing the success and results is always so rewarding.”
