BAföG – state financial support for students at BIMM University Berlin

Students on BIMM University Berlin courses* are entitled to apply for financial maintenance support during their studies funded by the Federal Education Authority. BAföG is otherwise known as the Federal Training Assistance Act.

This recognition by the Federal Education Authorities in Berlin reflects the academic quality of BIMM University Berlin’s undergraduate (bachelor degree) and postgraduate (master’s degree) courses.

* Courses running new in 2024 are currently being approved for BAföG funding and will be listed shortly.

FINS is a European loan scheme developed by the EDUCATIVA Group with the support of the European Union and the European Investment Fund. It is available to all students from an EU member state who want to study at a reputable university in Europe.

You can choose to study in any country in Europe (including the United Kingdom) and access up to 25.000 EUR for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, without having a job or any other guarantees. Subject to certain terms and conditions.

Students with international fee status are charged different tuition fee amounts and have different funding options in comparison to students with EU fee status. Funding available to students with International fee status is very limited, and the majority of such students would not be able to receive any funding. We encourage you to explore all options, however, and you may wish to explore the below further:

Undergraduate (Bachelor) Music courses

Early Confirmation Discount

An early confirmation discount for study in the UK of £2,000, or €2,000 for study in Germany or Ireland, for each year of study is available to all students who don’t qualify for home fees, and who have an offer to study with us at any of our campuses in the UK, Germany or Ireland. Discount eligibility

To be eligible for the Early Confirmation Discount, you must:

• Be an overseas applicant ineligible for home (domestic) fees
• Apply and receive an offer to study a BIMM University course
• Accept your offer
• Pay your deposit, if applicable, by the deadline of 15th June 2025

The scholarship will automatically be deducted from your fees when you enrol.

This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, offer or scholarship.

Alumni Bursary (Postgraduate/ Masters students only)

BIMM University graduates receive a €1,000 deduction from their course fees if studying the 1-year full-time postgraduate course. Alumni receive €500 off each year if studying the 2-year part-time postgraduate course.
