Music Production student Bernardo Villar undertook a work placement at Tempelhof Sounds, acting as a personal assistant to artists like The Strokes and Florence + The Machine.
Bernardo on his experience: “Working at the festival really gave me an idea of the dimension of all the work and planning behind it, as well as how lucky I was to be in the position I was assigned to.”
BIMM and ATC Management launched an exclusive online A&R student scout internship programme during the lockdown in 2021, liaising directly with ATC’s core A&R teams and managers throughout Europe. Interns develop insightful A&R experience, whilst making key contacts within the music industry.
Songwriting student Ronja Pöhlmann undertook the internship in 2021 and said: “I’ve learned a lot about the work and the process of an A&R manager. Before my internship, I felt that A&R persons were really hard to reach out to – now I feel much more self-assured about my knowledge and skills as an emerging artist entering the music industry.”
In just their first year, Filmmaking students Daria Kostina, Ebba Olofsson and Joanne Kalek took to the red-carpet at Berlin’s international film festival as PR interns. Interviewing directors, producers and actors, they got a unique insight into one of the world’s largest and most important film festivals.
After her experience as an intern, Daria said: “I’d always heard a lot about the festival and I really wanted to be a part of it in whatever way possible. I thought that I’d just be fetching coffees or that I’d maybe be allowed to shoot some things, but in the end, I did way more than I expected and it was a marvellous experience.”
