Gigs, screenings and projects

It’s your time to shine.

Take what you learn in the classroom and put it out for the world to see.

Throughout your time with us, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be part of creative projects where you can showcase your talents – and you’ll have a captive audience of peers and industry professionals before you.

Here are some of the opportunities you will have to “show your stuff” throughout the year…

Our end-of-semester gigs put the best of BIMM’s musicians into the spotlight. A true highlight of the BIMM calendar, performers experience what it’s like to play in front of a packed audience of fans and industry professionals. Taking place across some of Berlin’s most-loved venues, there is no better way to celebrate a semester’s worth of hard work.

BIMM’s answer to the Berlinale, our end-of-semester screenings give students the chance to showcase their latest projects in front of real audiences. Just like at a film festival, audiences spend an evening watching, discussing and learning about students’ latest projects – and can enjoy a fresh bag of Molecule Popcorn while they do so!

Everyone’s favourite cross-faculty project: students from the Screen & Film Faculty collaborate with students from the Music Faculty to produce professional-quality music videos. During the process, students also work with music video director and BIMM University Berlin patron Tim Pope (The Cure, David Bowie, Queen) to gain feedback from a master of the craft.

Each year, our BIMM albums highlight the best talent in our colleges. With the chance to work with legendary producers like Pete Smith, the BIMM Album is professionally recorded, produced and mastered. Highlighting the best of BIMM talent, the BIMM Album is a true highlight of the year.
