Throughout your time with us, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be part of performances, projects, and industry collaborations where you can showcase your talents – and you’ll have a diverse audience of peers and industry professionals ready to see what you’ve got.
Here are some of the opportunities you will have to “show your stuff” throughout the year…
We collaborate with Berlin’s premier game audio studio, Audio Creatures and the world-renowned German Film Orchestra for the exciting initiative LiveScore Berlin.
This partnership, which aims to bring the world of video game scores to life, saw students and graduates rescore the teaser trailer for Skyblivion, a modding project by the TESRenewal group.
Following a rigorous selection process, three teams of students and graduates were selected to have their compositions brought to life by the world-renowned German Film Orchestra. Watch the video, shot by two of our Filmmaking students, to find out more.
Berlin SongFest, organised by The Woods Norway, is a regular songwriting camp that travels across Europe throughout the year, bringing together talented songwriters to collaborate on original songs with the aim of representing their respective countries at the Eurovision Song Contest.
As part of our official partnership with Berlin SongFest, we are able to send our students to take part in what could be a career-defining 3-day experience.
BIMM Live is all about putting our talented musicians in the spotlight. A real highlight of the calendar, performers experience what it’s like to play in front of a packed audience of fans and industry professionals. Taking place across some of Berlin’s most-loved venues, there is no better way to celebrate a semester’s worth of hard work.
Our end of year showcase gives students from our film and acting courses the chance to put their latest projects in front of real audiences on the big screen. Audiences spend an evening watching, discussing and learning about students’ latest projects in local cinemas exclusively booked for the event.
Everyone’s favourite cross-faculty project: students from the Screen & Film Faculty collaborate with students from the Music Faculty to produce professional-quality music videos. During the process, students also work with music video director Tim Pope (The Cure, David Bowie, Queen) to gain feedback from a master of the craft.
BIMM Extra is a series of classes, workshops and extracurricular activities available to students in addition to their studies, giving you the opportunity to explore new topics and expand your skillset.
Led by staff and alumni, they take place during semesters one and two, and has previous included:
- The BIMM Berlin Choir
- Keyboard and Piano Skills
- ProTools and recording workshops
- Drum classes
