Rich Thornton graduated from BIMM Bristol with a distinction studying Guitar and is now the Co-Owner and Managing Director at Bristol Rock Centre.
The Bristol-based independent music school provides guitar, bass, drums and vocals tuition for all ages and abilities. The school first started in Rich’s spare room at home and is now a company-owned bespoke teaching centre, based in a building formerly used as an NHS medical centre.
The Bristol Rock Centre is now the largest independent rock music school in the South of England and boasts a whopping 100 music lessons per week from a 12-strong team of dedicated tutors, eight of which are also BIMM graduates. Rich and the team are hoping to open a second building dedicated to rehearsals, live performances and seminars!
Here’s what Rich had to say about his time studying at BIMM University Berlin Bristol:
“BIMM was an excellent place to study. I was equipped with the necessary skills and motivation to open my own music school. Whilst at BIMM, I met Becky Baldwin and Chris Hawkins, who I considered to be exceptionally talented and motivated individuals. Their help was invaluable in bringing this project to fruition.”
