Applying to BIMM University Berlin: your step-by-step guide

Applying to BIMM Berlin is a big step, but the process couldn’t be simpler. Our application journey is designed to be simple, with guidance available at every stage. Whether you’re studying Music, Acting or Film, simply follow the steps below to start your journey in as little as 15 minutes.

Step 1: Submit your application

Start off by creating an account on our application portal. You’ll be asked questions that help us to better understand you and your creative experience.

Step 2: We’ll review your application

Once you’ve submitted your application, our team will review it and plan the next steps of your journey. You’ll receive more information on what you need to do next (including submitting documents and interview requirements) in the form of a conditional offer via email.

Step 3: Book your interview

Our Admissions Team will reach out to you to arrange an interview for your chosen course. You’ll also receive information on what materials you should prepare and submit in advance.

Step 4: Complete your interview

Your interviewer will review the material you’ve submitted and use it to guide their conversation with you. This is your time to show us what you know, as well as receive feedback on taking your skills further.

Step 5: Accept your place + deposit payment

Once you've submitted everything we need, completed your interview, and received an offer, you can accept your place at BIMM University Berlin. Simply pay your deposit to secure your place.

Step 6: Get ready to start building your creative career

We can’t wait to welcome you to our iconic campus in Berlin. While you get prepared to start your life as a student with us, our team will be on hand to support you with any questions you may have. Don’t hesitate to reach out!

We recommend you apply as soon as possible.

Recommended Final Application Deadline: 12 August 2026

To allow enough time to complete all stages of the application process before courses begin in September, we strongly recommend that applicants submit their application by 12 August 2026.

Applying by the recommended deadline will also help ensure availability on your preferred course.

Visas

If you are an international student and require a visa, we strongly advise applying as early as possible, as visa processing can take up to 90 days. Our immigration advice team will be in touch once we receive your application to guide you through the visa process.

Accommodation and Relocating to Berlin

Finding somewhere to live in Berlin can be daunting, but it’s not impossible. We advise all applicants review our Accommodation page for helpful guidance on relocating to Berlin.

What does the application process include?

Simply:

  • Meeting academic and English language entry requirements
  • Completing an entrance interview for your chosen course

The application form takes around 15 minutes to complete, and we encourage you to apply as soon as possible to help you proceed through each step as smoothly as possible.

Once you receive an offer, you’ll be invited to book a personalised one-to-one meeting with a Course Leader. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, discuss your circumstances, and explore your study plans and career goals. It also gives us the opportunity to get to know you, so we can best prepare to welcome you at the start of the academic year.
