Writer–Director based in Berlin. Assaf’s films have screened at leading festivals including the Venice Biennale, Berlinale, BFI London, Raindance and Canneseries, winning multiple awards and securing international distribution through broadcasters such as HBO, ARTE, RAI, Mediaset, SVT, SBS and more.
An alumnus of the Locarno Filmmakers Academy and Berlinale Talents, Assaf’s debut feature Where To premiered at Perspectives competition, Berlinale 2026 and was sold for 12 territories. His feature film Sugarcane has already secured a development grant from Medienboard. In parallel, Assaf is developing two series – one in Germany and another in the U.S.
