Louise Macnamara
Course leader, Songwriting
Louise is an independent artist, songwriter and educator from Dublin, Ireland and based in Berlin. She has been writing and performing for over 15 years, has released two studio albums with her indie- pop band Heathers and signed deals with Universal Music Publishing, Warner Music Germany, Sony Music USA and Canada, amongst others. She has toured extensively across the US, Canada, Europe and Asia and performed in numerous festivals internationally including Eurosonic, CMJ New York, SXSW Austin, Canadian Music Week & Electric Picnic Festival, Ireland.
Outside of Heathers, Louise has also written music for many recording artists, as well as for various film and TV projects. She has co-written in the UK and USA with writers such as Rupert Christie (Dua Lipa, Royal Blood), Phil Danyew (Foster The People), Josh Wilkinson (One Direction, Ella Eyre).
Louise has an MA in Education from University College London, has spent a number of years working in Education management roles in BIMM Dublin, Hamburg and Berlin and is passionate about creating an equitable, inclusive and diverse learning environment, where students feel valued, supported and part of a community.
