BIMM Hamburg Approved As Ableton Certified Training Centre

14 March, 2019

BIMM colleges across the UK and Europe have had a long and successful history with global music software and equipment manufacturer, Ableton, with all students regularly accessing their industry-standard production and performance programme, Ableton Live, and groundbreaking hardware controller, Ableton Push. But BIMM Hamburg’s association with the company is now even closer, as the college has just been approved as an Ableton Certified Training Centre – one of only a handful across Germany.

The certification was awarded to BIMM Hamburg after a thorough investigation of the college by Ableton and a rigorous selection process. The company, whose global headquarters are in Berlin, found a match between BIMM Hamburg’s facilities and teaching methods and their own ethos in the areas of creativity, composing, recording and live performance.

On top of the college-wide certification, the campus also has two Ableton-certified lecturers who will be delivering classes to students at the college – drummer and Keller record label founder Sjoerd van der Sanden and double Canadian Juno Award-nominated DJ, Noah Pred.

For our students, this exciting development means that as they apply Ableton to their everyday work, they can rest assured they’re receiving the best training in the world. As Ableton-certified lecturers, Sjoerd and Noah will get all the latest updates and training from the music tech company whenever new programmes or software developments are released. Our students will also become part of the Ableton user community, with instant access to the industry’s latest news, events and offers.

The partnership also means that BIMM Hamburg students now have access to substantial education discounts on Ableton products which could pocket them savings of up to a massive 40%.

Robert Witoschek, Business Development Manager at the college, is enthusiastic about the benefits Ableton certification will bring for every student:

“BIMM’s open approach to music analogy and acoustic instrumentalists means Ableton software and hardware is used by all BIMM musicians – not just our Music Production students. Although we use Ableton products regularly in recording, they’re also used in rehearsals, songwriting collaborations and live performances, so all at BIMM Hamburg – whether studying Performance, Production or Music Business – will gain a professional working knowledge of the brand.”

Having such esteemed Ableton credentials is an exclusive privilege for BIMM Hamburg, as generally only colleges in the world’s largest cities are afforded this title. It’s yet another confirmation for why Hamburg thoroughly deserves its reputation as Europe’s capital for music business.
