Scholarship Winner Starts at BIMM University Berlin
We’re proud to announce that the winner of our exclusive Music Production scholarship has started his studies at BIMM University Berlin. Melvin Rehnlund Ingblad was awarded this life-changing opportunity by our scholarship patrons and artistic pioneers, Modeselektor – and got to attend their exclusive BIMM Masterclass.
Earlier this year, we announced the launch of our brand new scholarships for students who demonstrate incredible talent and creativity in music. Not only are these scholarships designed to cover the chosen student’s first year of study on our Music Production undergraduate course, but they are also awarded by none other than award-winning producers, Modeselektor.
And Modeselektor – who have shaped the electronic music scene for the best part of two decades, releasing critically acclaimed albums and achieving international success, among other achievements – selected Melvin Rehnlund Ingblad to join us at BIMM institute Berlin for his Music Production degree after hearing his innovative original music.

Modeselektor’s Masterclass
The BIMM University Berlin patrons (aka Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) also came in to deliver a special Masterclass – and Melvin was able to attend and meet the duo. “Their Masterclass was inspiring”, says Melvin. “I really liked listening to their story as well… It inspired me to get into the live scene of Berlin more, regardless of how many songs I have published”.
As for Melvin’s time at BIMM University Berlin so far, he’s finding it all very inspiring, particularly our expert teaching staff.
“What I like most about the college so far are the lecturers. I’ve found them to be people who truly know what they’re doing and who know how to inspire confidence. As a [potentially] uncertain and hesitant student just starting out, there’s nothing you need more.”
In fact, it’s because of our world-class lecturers, unrivalled connections and real-world industry experiences that so many alumni have achieved their professional goals. And Melvin definitely has a few of his own, “I want to put my imprint on the world of music because I believe my musical ideas have something different… And I want to accomplish that by working in different fields”. Melvin continues: “I want to work in songwriting and producing, as well as do some work in other mediums like movies/series and games.”
With his passion, the help of Modeselektor’s scholarship and BIMM University Berlin’s motivating and collaborative environment that encourages multiple skills, Melvin is sure to achieve his dream career in music.
