She’s had a series of high-profile gigs. As a solo artist, Frida’s appeared on Fearne Cotton’s show on BBC Radio 1, singing as part of fellow ex-BIMM student Tom Odell’s backing band, and she’s also performed at the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s in Soho.
As well as this, she’s the singer for electro-jazz-soul outfit Native Dancer, ensuring that she reaches out to a whole new audience. The band’s eclectic, imaginative songs have been picked up by DJ Nick Luscombe on BBC Radio 3, who played their song ‘Love’ to a national listenership.
Fellow cutting-edge BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson has also played tracks from the band’s debut EP, ‘Vol. 1’ — which has just been released to great reviews.
Native Dancer have quickly gained a following, leading to performances at the London Jazz Festival at the South Bank Centre. She’s only just graduated, but the future is looking bright for Frida!
