BIMM Institute Hamburg Facilities

As a student at BIMM Institute Hamburg, you have direct access to state-of-the-art professional facilities – with equipment and software delivered by the world’s leading music instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us.

We’re proud to welcome you to our brand-new teaching space near the Karostar Musikhaus in St. Pauli, Hamburg. Our new college is a real paradise for music aficionados, and right in the epicentre of Hamburg’s music industry.

We are lucky to have over 40 music companies as our neighbours including Beggars Group, Nettwerk Music Group, Inferno Events (co-production with Reeperbahn Festival), White Horse Music, Hamburg Music Business Association (IHM), Devil Duck Records and many more.

The Knust, one of Hamburg’s most iconic clubs, has hosted gigs from world-renowned artists such as Arcade Fire, Robyn, Bon Iver. You can enjoy the ‘Knust Acoustics’ (open-air concerts) that take place outside in the sunny square during the summer months, just next door to our college.

Additionally, you’ll find loads of good spots for food and drink just around the corner: ‘Dschungel’ for cheap beers, ‘Feldstern’ just opposite the college for food and drink, ‘HappenPappen’ as great vegan opportunity, and ‘Rindermarkthalle’, which has supermarkets and a food court for everyone. Cafés such as ‘Manufact’ or ‘Elbgold’ are also great for small batch locally roasted coffee.

You will be rubbing shoulders with the most prestigious event promoters, venue managers, music producers and artists from around the globe, browsing for new music in Hanseplatte, Groove City, and Zardoz record stores. And don’t forget to rummage around the ‘Schanzenflohmarkt’ flea market every Saturday to pick up some unique bits and bobs for your apartment, record collection or wardrobe!

You’ll begin your music career in our bright and comfortable classrooms, soundproofed performance and rehearsal studios with full backline and bespoke acoustic treatment, high-tech production facilities, top-of-the-range Mac suites. Plus, Music Production students have access to recording facilities at Chefrock Studios. Not bad, right?
