Adam Winchester
Course leader, Music Production
Adam is the Music Production Course Leader at BIMM University Berlin. Having completed a BA Hons degree in Creative Music Technology, a PGCE in Further Education, and an Apple Trainer Certification in Logic X, Adam Winchester recently obtained a 1st class Masters in Music at Bath Spa University. He is an electronic music producer, composer, and performer from Bristol, UK who is professionally known as one half of the duo Dot Product, who have released two albums on the well-respected electronic label Osiris Music.
The pair have performed at various high-profile events such as Berlin Atonal, Krake Festival, and Simple Things, and have supported artists such as Red Snapper, and Alessandro Cortini. They recently paired with legendary German Kraut Rock singer Renate Knaup of Amon Duul ii. Other notable collaborations include Japanese Noise artist KK.Null, and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Adam also works as an experimental solo artist under his own name and has been involved in various sound-art installations in Bristol, as well as composing for Film and TV. He is widely known for being part of the first wave of Dubstep artists in Bristol circa 2004, where he made a name for himself as DJ Wedge - gaining huge support from Rinse Fm’s N-Type, and Radio One’s Maryanne Hobbs who took his music to a worldwide audience, enabling him to tour the USA, Europe, and Asia.
He subsequently set up his own record label If Symptoms Persist in 2009, and went on to release Dubstep and House on a plethora of other high profile record labels. Adam also has a history in radio, having set up the first and most consistent weekly dubstep radio show in Bristol on SubFM back in 2006 which ran for 6 years.
