Jody Gannon

Jody Gannon is a Director/Consultant, Classical Animation expert, Lecturer and Founder/CEO of the renowned Big B animation co. GmbH.
He studied Design/Communications, majoring in Animation. Then later a post graduate business BAhons degree in Media Production and Management. He worked with Oscar winning legend Bob Godfrey in London.
Trained in Classical Feature animation at the Walt Disney studios & Amblimation, and was Creative director for Ealing animation. Also working in the ex-Feature Don Bluth studio Terraglyph as a Classical animator. Possessing a teachers training certificate, he was Classical Animation course lecturer in the renowned classical Animation course at Ballyfermot College of Further Education (BCFE).
He has lectured on animation in the International Film School in Cologne, and has given workshops for Ikea Sweden, the Institute of Management in Berlin, and online training sessions for Reliance Media India.
Having been long term in-house creative Director for Features and TV series. he became Managing Director of Hahnfilm (one of Germanys largest and most well established studios) before taking over as Supervising Director on the epic KiKa CGi Feature development and TV series : ‘Sherezade the Untold stories’ one of the most ambitious animated projects ever produced in the EU. More recently he has worked on KiKa’s own Flagship Feature/TV series development ‘Mystery Museum’.
Established as one of the most credited Supervising Directors in Europe with extensive credits on shows such as the highly successful SimsalaGrimm, the Gnarfs, the School for Vampires and Features such as Werner 2, Abrafaxe, Little Ice bear II, and Winnetoons.
He also provided the voices for two characters on the Sherazade series, and is an expert Storyboard Director/Supervisor, Scratch-track and Animatic Director.
He has extensive experience overseas, having supervised TV series productions in: China, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Canada and Australia. He founded the renowned Big B animation Co. GmbH in Berlin in 2008, and has been involved in providing animation services, and directing and developing a number of successful European co-productions ever since.
Big B animation are currently developing a slate of top level IP’s and content development for the Global market. Jody is Vice President of the Irish Business Network Germany.
