Theodora Byrne

Lecturer, Theory and Performance

Theodora is an Irish session keyboardist, vocalist, choir director, and arranger based in Berlin, Germany.

In recent years she has toured extensively as a keyboardist and backing vocalist with artists such as Lisa Hannigan, James Vincent McMorrow, Saint Sister and Sorcha Richardson. Most recently, Theodora has been playing alongside German pop artist Michael Patrick Kelly (formerly of The Kelly Family) on his 2022/23 'BOATS' album arena tour.

In 2020, Theodora launched a creative project entitled The Theodora Byrne Ensemble, which sees a varied group of contemporary singers performing vocal arrangements in collaboration with artists such as Bell X1, Lisa Hannigan, and Wallis Bird. Theodora works in collaboration with the artists to create bespoke arrangements for TV, recording or live settings.

Theodora holds a first class honours undergraduate degree in Popular Music Performance specialising in Vocals from BIMM University Dublin, and a first class honours master's degree in Community Music from the University of Limerick.
