BIMM Berlin students head to Brighton for The Great Escape festival
BIMM Berlin students were in attendance at this year’s The Great Escape (TGE) festival in Brighton, UK. Our students who make up folk duo Kathlen Morrison, shone in their live performance at our showcase co-hosted with DIY Magazine.
Kathlen Morrison have studied with us from undergraduate level all the way through to their master’s. At the festival, the duo performed alongside students from across our network of campuses in the UK and Ireland.
As the official education partner for The Great Escape – a title we’ve held for 10 years now – we are given the chance to put our incredibly hard-working students in front of music executives, publishers, promoters, artists and artist managers from all over the world.
Over 150 of our students were actively involved in the running of The Great Escape this year. Work included marketing and social media; stage managing; building and producing stages; hosting networking events and, of course, performing.
With their fellow students Emileo, Neckbreakers, Immy, Wavy Abyss, and Eighty Eight Miles, Kathlen Morrison performed to a packed room at the seafront venue Dust. The stage was managed entirely by BIMM students and hosted by DIY Magazine and BIMM University.
All this would not be possible without our excellent Creative Futures Team. Angelique Jacquet, Careers Manager at BIMM University Berlin commented:
“Performing at a prestigious festival like The Great Escape exemplifies the remarkable opportunities accessible to students of BIMM University. This experience is not just about showcasing the talent nurtured within the institution, but also allowing students access to BIMM’s extensive industry network that they can leverage for their professional growth and development.”
Congratulations to Kathlen Morrison and all the other amazing students that performed and worked at The Great Escape! We hope to see you all again next year.
