Students and staff at BIMM Berlin are beyond excited to announce that Tuesday 31st May is the launch date of the 2016 BIMM Berlin Album!
The album features tracks by a selection of BIMM Berlin bands and musicians, all of whom submitted their original songs to a panel of top music industry judges, including Fin Greenall (Fink), Gisela Sotomayor (Nineteen95 Management), Karl Nowak (Spinnup) and Ronja Thiede (Star FM). Of those, five tracks were chosen to make the final cut, and without further ado, we’re delighted to announce that the full track listing for the 2016 BIMM Berlin Album is:
- Celine Love – ‘Off My Chest’
- Montag Mania – ‘Modern Hero’
- Late4Breakfast – ‘No Song’
- Sergio Herfert – ‘Whisper’
- Mohawk – ‘Superposition’
A huge congratulations to all the very talented BIMM Berlin students who were selected, and the successful musicians who have spent dates across March and April in the studio recording their songs.
A recording session at the famous Hansa Studios saw our Recording Skills Tutor, Pete Smith, undertaking production duties, and this was followed by two additional sessions by Pete at Kreuzberg’s TRIXX Studios. There was also a session at Schaltraum Aufnahmestudio Funkhaus with BIMM Berlin tutor and legendary producer of The Strokes’ debut album ‘Is This It’, Gordon Raphael, taking the reins.
The whole BIMM Berlin Album production process took around three weeks of recording, mixing and mastering to get to where we are now, and we can tell you that the incredible talent showcased on the finished product will blow your mind!
2016 has already seen the release of the BIMM Brighton Album which is available to purchase on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon and many other digital retailers, and each BIMM college is due to release collections of original music this year, so be sure to stay tuned for future releases.
