BAföG – state financial support for students at BIMM University Berlin

Students on BIMM University Berlin courses* are entitled to apply for financial maintenance support during their studies funded by the Federal Education Authority. BAföG is otherwise known as the Federal Training Assistance Act.

This recognition by the Federal Education Authorities in Berlin reflects the academic quality of BIMM University Berlin’s undergraduate (bachelor degree) and postgraduate (master’s degree) courses.

FINS is a European loan scheme developed by the EDUCATIVA Group with the support of the European Union and the European Investment Fund. It is available to all students from an EU member state who want to study at a reputable university in Europe.

You can choose to study in any country in Europe (including the United Kingdom) and access up to 25.000 EUR for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, without having a job or any other guarantees. Subject to certain terms and conditions.

Students with international fee status are charged different tuition fee amounts and have different funding options in comparison to students with EU fee status. Funding available to students with International fee status is very limited, and the majority of such students would not be able to receive any funding. We encourage you to explore all options, however, and you may wish to explore the below further:

Undergraduate (Bachelor) Music courses

• Deposit to be paid on offer acceptance (pay online at bimm.ac.uk/pay).
• Fees to be paid in full before 15th August in each academic year.

Postgraduate (Masters) courses

• Deposit to be paid on offer acceptance (pay online at bimm.ac.uk/pay).

One-year CertHE courses

Creative Futures Discount

This bursary cannot be used with any other discount, offer or scholarship.

Eligible BIMM University alumni commencing a postgraduate programme with an intake year from 2026 will receive a €1,000 discount on their tuition fees.

This discount applies to both full-time and part-time postgraduate programmes offered by BIMM University. You will qualify for our Creative Futures Discount if you have successfully completed one of the following at BIMM University:

• Undergraduate degree programme
• Master’s programme, including a postgraduate certificate or diploma

Early Acceptance Discount

To qualify for the Early Acceptance Discount, you must:

• Be an overseas applicant (from outside the EU/EEA) and ineligible for domestic fees
• Apply for and receive an offer to study a BIMM University course
• Accept your offer
• Pay your deposit, if applicable, by 15 June 2026

The €2,000 discount will be automatically applied to your tuition fees upon enrolment each year.

This discount cannot be combined with any other discount, offer or scholarship. It will be withdrawn if you defer your application to a future intake.
