It’s not every day you come across an artist with the ambition, drive and entrepreneurial know-how of BIMM London Music Business student, Yo Preston. The talented undergraduate is making a name for himself both on and off the stage; he’s currently Music Week’s featured ‘Picture Of The Week’ and is quickly becoming a global sensation.

The snap shows Yo alongside Ditto Music CEO Matt Parsons, whose clients include Ed Sheeran and Stormzy and comes hot on the heels of his hugely successfully Justin Bieber mash-up single ‘Love Yourself Vs F*CK Yourself’, which recently went gold in Australia.

Not only has Yo dominated the Australian charts, but his soulful cover has also notched up over 17 million views on YouTube! Yo himself already has over 86,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, a figure which continues to grow.

Taking to social media to voice his appreciation, Yo tweeted: “Thanks to the guys at @MusicWeek for including me in this week!”

The Harrogate-born singer is merely two years into his education but is already catching the attention of the industry. He’s also been showing plenty of promise at BIMM, after teaming up with fellow business student Theo Anderson to start their own management company, Ground Zero Mgmt.

Word of this new company’s promotion of new artists and talent is already spreading after its founders picked up BIMM’s coveted Music Business Award at our Graduation Showcase 2016 event, which took place at the iconic O2 Forum in Kentish Town.

The pair won first prize for their business proposal, receiving a £500 kick starter fund, one year’s digital subscription to Complete Music Update (CMU), a complimentary place on a CMU Masterclass and one-to-one business mentoring from AIM.

Yo’s hard work, talent and business acumen have all played a huge part in his incredible success. We’re tipping the singer for great things, in both his studies at BIMM London and music career. The future looks exceptionally bright for this young rising star.
