And Patrick’s exemplary work directing it earned him the BIMM Brighton Enterprise and Business Award, 2018.

“I really enjoyed the course. I really benefitted from coming here and I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I hadn’t done an Event Management Degree.” Patrick McNaught – Festival Director

Charlie Lowe

After racking up valuable experience as a member of the press team at award-winning alternative music festival, Slam Dunk, Event Management graduate Charlie Lowe went on to become the Social Media Manager for Brighton & Hove’s Pride Festival. The event sees 300,000 visitors and partygoers descending upon Brighton and Hove each summer.

“Going to BIMM definitely helped me to get a better grasp on what parts of the Events industry I wanted to pursue as a professional career. BIMM is really what you make it, there are so many opportunities available to students and the teaching staff are a wealth of knowledge across a wide spectrum of events/departments.” – Charlie Lowe – Social Media Manager

Anna Andressdotter-Nilsson

Whilst studying an Event Management degree, Anna could regularly be found assisting and co-ordinating at BIMM’s in-house events such as End of Term Gigs, plus handling advancing for the college’s songwriting showcases.

After graduating, Anna secured a full-time position as Agent and Music Touring Assistant with CAA, one of the biggest live agents in world whose roster includes the likes of JP Cooper, Daft Punk, AC/DC, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran.

“My time at BIMM helped so much with developing my skills and network within the live music industry. It shaped me as a person and as a professional, as well as opening door for me that I don’t believe I would have been able to open without the help of the industry professionals at BIMM.” -Anna Andressdotter-Nilsson – Agent and Music Touring Assistant

Robin Watts

Event Management undergraduate Robin Watts has held positions as a Studio Manager at Trickstar Radio, Social Media and Marketing Manager at the Loft Sessions, Founder of his own promotions company Drum Safari, Social Media Assistant at Boundary Festival, Stage Technician/Assistant at the Great Escape Festival and his current role as Marketing Assistant at independent drum ‘n’ bass record label Shogun Audio.

BIMM have been really supportive throughout my 3 years there and I’d definitely recommend the Events Management degree to anyone who’s unsure of where they want to be after University, but also have a passion for music and events in some way (I had no idea what I wanted to do after Uni when I started)!” – Robin Watts – Label Marketing Assistant

Napsugár Bardócz

Whilst studying her Event Management degree, Napsugár gained valuable work experience behind the scenes on the BIMM festival work experience program, in which students are given important roles at various live music events each summer including 2000Trees, Glastonbury, Arctangent and The Great Escape.

Having also gained work experience at 13 Artists, Bardócz now works as a Coordinator at the UK & European Guild of Music Supervisors as well as an Artist Manager for fellow BIMM performance graduate Miles Goodall.

“When I moved from Budapest to Brighton to study at BIMM, I knew that I wanted to make the most of my time there. I didn’t know anyone and I didn’t know what my way into the music industry would be like, but I was determined to make it happen. BIMM has the most amazing opportunities on a shelf, you just need to go and take them – but in order to do that, first you should find out where that shelf is.

I met some of the most incredible and inspirational people, such as Suzi IrelandNicky Kingsbury-Williams and Steve Jones, who all helped me get the opportunities of my dreams and for that I am eternally grateful.” – Napsugár Bardócz – Coordinator

Suzi Ireland and Nicky Kingsbury-Williams are members of BIMM’s careers hub and festival outreach teams, who are on-hand to facilitate fantastic opportunities to engage with the music industry during your time at BIMM.
