Introducing BIMM Institute Hamburg’s new home

2 August, 2021

At BIMM Institute Hamburg, we’re excited to announce that students beginning their studies in September 2021 will have the chance to experience our brand-new building in the academic year 2021-22. Our new facility is near the Karostar Musikhaus in St. Pauli, Hamburg.

The new college will be a real paradise for music aficionados, and right at the epicenter of Hamburg’s music industry. Students will have direct access to state-of-the-art professional facilities – with equipment and software delivered by the world’s leading music instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us.

The newly refurbished building offers bright and comfortable classrooms, soundproofed performance spaces, top-of-the-range Mac suites, lecture and tutorial rooms as well as a development and production room. Music Production students will be taught at professional recording studio Chefrock Studios. As a Performance or Songwriting student, you will have your group performance classes in the live music venue, Jolly Jumper. BIMM Institute Hamburg will continue to be an Ableton Certified Training Centre, highlighting the high standard of our facilities and Lecturers which students will benefit from.

We are currently operating at full stretch to make sure that the facilities of our new building are ready for the academic year 2021/22. Take a look and hear what our students have to say about BIMM Institute Hamburg’s new entry area, lecture rooms, MacLabs and performance spaces!

“Our new BIMM Institute Hamburg facility could not be a more ideal location for us, as the college expands and goes from strength to strength. The Saint Pauli area is an internationally recognised creative hub and a perfect home for all of our German students, as well those who join them from further afield.”

– Vaseema Hamilton, BIMM Executive Principal

Networking with Hamburg’s Creative Community

We will be joining a local community of over 40 music companies including the iconic record store Hanseplatte, the music marketing experts of KRANZMUSIK, La Lupa Music Publishing, and Knust, one of Hamburg’s most iconic clubs. Knust has hosted gigs from world-renowned artists such as Napalm Death, Ty Segall, and Buzzcocks. In the summer months, enjoy the ‘Knust Acoustics’ gigs that are held outdoors in the sunny square right next to the college.

Students will rub shoulders with the most prestigious event promoters, venue managers, music producers and artists from around the globe. This provides our students with the opportunity to network with other members of Hamburg’s thriving creative community, which will undoubtedly have a hugely positive impact on their creative endeavours, collaborative relationships, and career opportunities.
