BIMM Bristol's, Circe’s Diner, are an excellent example of what can be achieved when you take your collaborations with your talented fellow BIMM colleagues seriously. The band formed in their first year of study, and is made up of second-year Songwriting students, Rosina Buck and Brendan Sweetman, along with Vocals student Bronte Kirkby, Drum student Pete Catada, and Bass student Ben Tunnicliffe.Their blend of acoustic folk, melting harmonies and clever lyrics has been turning heads wherever they go, and to date the band has played some impressive gigs in many of Bristol’s best venues, including The Fleece, The Folk House and Thekla. In 2014, the band entered a competition via Long Arm Films to write a song to a specific brief, with the winning track featuring in a new indie film called ‘High Tide’ to be released in 2015. The group put forward ‘ Let’s Go Sailing’ which they recorded in the kitchen of a band member with help from BIMM Bristol Songwriting tutor, Annie Gardiner, and they were absolutely thrilled to learn it had been chosen as the winning song. The band has also been asked by the production company to play to a room of reviewers, celebrities and the media at the film’s first screening. They’ll also be making a video diary of their journey from BIMM Bristol band to successful soundtrack band, culminating in their time at the premiere, which will be included as a bonus feature on the film’s DVD release.
