Scholarship Winner Starts at BIMM University Berlin Hamburg
We’re proud to announce that the winner of our exclusive Songwriting scholarship has started her studies at BIMM University Berlin Hamburg. Mariama Ceesay was awarded this life-changing opportunity by our partners, RockCity Hamburg e.V.
Earlier this year, we announced the launch of our brand new scholarships for students who show incredible talent and creativity in music. Not only are these scholarships designed to cover the chosen student’s three-year undergraduate course, but they are also awarded by none other than Hamburg’s unique and supporting music network, Rockcity Hamburg e.V.

Rockcity Hamburg e.V. – which supports the Hamburg music scene and a community of 5,000 bands and musicians with career advice, networking, coaching and more – offered this full-time scholarship to Mariama Ceesay. She chose to study our BA (Hons) Songwriting undergraduate course.

“The Hamburg-based talent Mariama is the perfect fit for the scholarship, with her talent and experience meeting business and education”, says RockCity Hamburg e.V. In fact, it was Mariama’s initial experience that saw her impress the selection committee. Mariama built up her experience of the music industry and practical studio time while she was still in high school and effortlessly stepped from stage to business.

Mariama is already loving her time at BIMM University Berlin, “BIMM University Berlin has established a wonderful network of like-minded people, who have all decided to start their journey into the music business – and I’m now very pleased to have the chance to be a part of it”. Mariama is also really excited about being able to witness the creation of our first wave of graduates here in Hamburg. “I see this as a privilege to be able to call myself one of the first students of BIMM University Berlin Hamburg.”

As well as offering this incredible scholarship, RockCity e.V. are providing free membership to all BIMM students. They’ll also have access to their exclusive coaching, consulting and the possibility to join local networking events. “The team-up of the newly opened dependence of BIMM University Berlin and RockCity as the local network of musicians offers professionalisation at the highest level”, says RockCity.
