Acceptable Forms of Identification

To enrol for your course at BIMM, you must be able to verify your identity upon your enrolment by supplying a valid passport, which also confirms your right to abode and study in the UK. The below options may also requested by admissions prior to offer.


Option A

Please supply one of the below accepted formats:

    1. A valid Passport (non-EU students must also supplement this with their proof of Alternative Immigration Status or their 30-day vignette sticker and BRP if holding a Tier 4 Visa sponsored by BIMM)
    2. EU Travel card (also known as ID card)
    3. UK or EU photo driving licence and Birth Certificate
    4. UK or EU photo driving licence and SLC confirmation letter

Should you not hold a valid passport or form of ID as per above, we have provided two other categories from which you may be able to verify your identity and right to study. In this case, you must contact international@bimm.co.uk to discuss these options on a case by case basis.


Option B

Please supply one of the below accepted options:

    1. UK or EU photo driving licence and 4 forms of ID from option C
    2. Recently expired UK passport (for UK students only)

Option C

If you do not hold any valid passport, ID card or photo driving licence, you must supply five documents out of the list below. We do not accept copies.

UK and Channel Island based documentation:

    1. UK Current driving licence (paper version). Must be valid.
    2. UK Utility bill. Issued in the last 3 months.
    3. UK Bank or building society account opening confirmation letter. Must be valid.
    4. UK Financial Statements (such as pensions, for example). Issued in the last 12 months.
    5. UK Work permit or visa issued from the last 12 months. Must be valid up to expiry.
    6. UK Her Majesty’s Forces card. Must be valid.
    7. UK benefit statement (such as child benefit, for example). Issued in the last 3 months.
    8. UK and Channel Islands Birth Certificate issues after time of birth. Must be valid.
    9. UK and Channel Islands Adoption certificate. Must be valid.
    10. UK and Channel Islands Firearms licence. Must be valid.
    11. UK and Channel Islands ID cards carrying the PASS accreditation logo. Must be valid.
    12. UK and Channel Islands Marriage or Civil Partnership certificate. Must be valid.
    13. UK and Channel Islands P45 or P60 statement. Issued in the last 12 months.
    14. UK and Channel Islands Council Tax Statement. Issued in the last 12 months.
    15. UK and Channel Islands Central or local Government agency or local authority document, providing entitlement (such as HMRC, Employment service etcetera). Issued in the last 3 months.

 

UK and Channel Islands, EU and EEA based documentation:

    1. UK or EEA Mortgage statement. Issued in the last 12 months.
    2. UK and Channel Islands or EEA bank or building society statement. Issued in the last 3 months.
    3. UK or EEA credit card statement. Issued in the last 3 months.
    4. EU National ID card. Must be valid.
